In the US market, BMWs equipped with bi-xenon headlamps also come with adaptive headlamps. Foglights were standard on the 3.0i and 3.0si, and optional on the 2004-2005 2.5i models. Bigger bulb should be main beam, smaller one side light. I have leds at the bottom of the lamp but xenon bulb with lens for dipped and halogen bulb for main beam. Switch the main beam on with stalk by the steering wheel and you see which one is on. Flashing main beam should be from the xenon bulb with lens.
