Both “Kill Bill” and “Old Town Road” were No. 1 for 20 weeks, until “Kill Bill” nabbed the top spot once again this week. RELATED: SZA’s “Kill Bill” Becomes Her First No. 1 Hit While Kill Bill: Volume 1 was a mash-up a variety of Asian and American action film genres (personified by Lucy Liu’s character, O-Ren Ishii, a Chinese-Japanese American), the comparatively underrated Kill Bill: Volume 2 plays out like the beautiful, blood-soaked baby of a spaghetti western and a samurai epic.

So why not. The first one is more fun and has the better, bigger action scenes. But Vol 2 elevates the story with better dialogue, character work, and a surprising amount of emotional impact at the end. The first one is a very slick and cool action movie but I felt like Vol 2 had more substance.

In Kill Bill, when The Bride fights O-ren Ishii, the movie uses an instrumental of a song called "Don't let me be misunderstood" When I searched the song up, I was surprised to find it had lyrics. One of those lyrics caught my eye: I have a feeling Tarantino used this song in the battle due to the lyrics.
