A common comparison is the CZ 75 Compact vs Glock 19 debate. In terms of height and size, the two guns are very similar. The obvious difference is the weight, with the Glock 19 winning out easily. Shooting-wise, the CZ takes the gold. It has lighter recoil, better accuracy, and ergonomics.

Anything from CZ Custom is worth getting, or you can buy a stock version and some Cajun Gun Works part and make it what you'd like it to be for less $$.

Overall lifetime depends on your ammo pressure, but for CZ pistols, thick buffers last around 5-15k rounds, while thin ones lasts 1-2k. Too thick a buffer prevents the slide from going all the way back and extracting right. The CZ thick buffer is fine on a Shadow 2, but not on a SP-01 or other CZ 75 models, even with a lighter recoil spring.

CZ's are excellent guns - getting a SP-01 and tricking it out for 3-gun is on my wish list. The SP-01 pretty much rules the European IPSC circuit. But for a carry gun, I'd go with a Glock or M&P.
