Just bought a Toyota Yaris for £900. I’ve just got this car its 55 plate and it’s in pristine condition. Done less than 30k miles, only had 1 owner, been serviced every year. The rear bumper has a little west on the coating but apart from that it’s in amazing condition. I had a Ford focus ‘style’ 08 plate before it which was loadsXLE discontinued for 2023). If you want to save and get a yaris still, I prefer the 2012-2014 models for their styling and the LE for more features and softer suspension over the stiffer sport suspension s and se. 2011 and prior models have the odd instrument cluster in the center of the console. Toyota had a lot of dry years for enthusiast cars. So happy to see them with the 86, supra, gr yaris. I think a car like this with toyota reliability is a true gem. It is a very solid vehicle, lots of room, good for city and highway driving, and reasonably fun to drive. It's an option definitely worth considering. The only other car in this class/price range I've driven is an 08 Cobalt. The thing is fantastic on the highway, but feels awkward in city driving.
Good choice! I was first wanting this car too, test drove it - liked it for the economy and higher ground clearance. But it was wasnt available to buy anywhere near me in May, so I opted for C-HR.
I'm going to buy a first generation Toyota Yaris with ca. 100k - 120k miles and I'm wondering whether or not I should replace the timing chain after buying in. I've googled this topic and I've found three schools of thought: A timing chain will outlive the car. You never have to replace it, but you should have it checked every 100k miles.
