A good battery that holds the charge will be between 12V and 12.5V. On the other hand, readings below 11.5V show either a bad battery or the alternator not charging sufficiently. Repeat the measuring procedure with the engine turned on and idling. A good alternator will produce between 13.5V and 14.5V.
It’s easy! Remove the metal key from the new fob and insert it into the ignition. Turn the key to position one, and then back until you hear a small click each time without turning on the engine. Repeat this move five times fast. Remove the key and place it back in the BMW fob. While holding the unlock button down, press the BMW logo three times.

Use a zip tie and a cloth covering to secure it if necessary. Disconnect the positive battery terminal next. Place it safely to the side. You’re ready to remove the battery bracket. The bolts that hold it in place can be removed using your 13 mm socket. Remove the old battery and set the new BMW battery in its place.
